Somalia's interesting business protocol

A normal Somaliland business week is Saturday through Wednesday with Thursday and Friday the weekend days. NOT MANY PEOPLE work on Friday but depending on occupations some people work on Thursday. Business hours are usually 7 am to 7 pm. Every Friday is a holiday. Meetings are laid back and start within 30 minutes of schedule time, and most meetings are not on Fridays.
Exports are Livstock, Bananas, Hides, Fish, and Charcoal. Imports are manufactures, petroleum products, foodstuffs, construction materials, qat (don’t know what this is). Currency is Somalia Shillings.1, 416.6 Somali shillings for a dollar, although the black market rate is 23,000 shillings for a dollar.
Natural resources from Somali are uranium and largely unexploited reserves of iron ore, tin, gypsum, bauxite, copper, salt, natural gas, likely oil reserves.
Flag of Somalia was adopted October 19th 1954 created by a scholar called Mohammed. The blue color was adopted from the UN flag. Also similar to the flag of Florida and Vietnam
Many poor Somali have to resort to piracy and they forcibly capture large transport ships from other countries in which they then hold hostage and will return for large sums of money. This process of piracy is a newer type of ‘business’.
